About Rebecca 〰️

Hello! I’m Rebecca, I’ve been working as a counsellor for over 12 years with a variety of different experiences in different roles and working with lots of different clients over that time. I’m here to listen to you with no judgement, no advice, and no expectation.

Sometimes I describe counselling to my clients as being a bit magical, it might take a few sessions for us to suss each other out and how we might work together, but then often something will click into place and things all start to make sense. I am incredibly passionate about my job, and sincerely hope that comes across to my clients. I would love to be able to help people out there get the support they need, particularly through what can be an incredibly challenging time in becoming/being a parent!

It’s important to choose a therapist you feel you would work well with, so I always encourage clients to shop around and speak to a few people to get a sense of what you feel would work best for you.

How I Work

I work both short and long term depending on your requirements and this may vary the approach used to work on the issues you are bringing. At my core I work in a person-centred way, very much led by what you bring to the work. I am not an expert, I am not here to tell you what to do or how I think you should fix things – there may be times where I make suggestions based on training or previous experience but ultimately you are in the drivers seat working out which direction we turn, at what speed we drive and where our destination is. I am in the passengers seat, along for the ride, with a bit of a map to help navigate and support your thinking processes and decisions. I use your information about your past experiences to understand how you have developed into the person you are, to help you to know yourself more and work out whether there are changes you would like to make. Often times people don’t know exactly what they would like to achieve from counselling, they just want to feel better and I can be here to help you work out what that might look like for you.
