About Nicky 〰️

Hi, I’m Nicky, a counsellor who’s passionate about supporting mums.

As a mum, I understand the unique challenges that mothers face, whether you’re navigating pregnancy, adjusting to life with a newborn, or raising older children. Having experienced post-natal anxiety myself, I know how overwhelming it can feel when you’re second-guessing everything during an already challenging time.

With over 10 years of experience in the mental health sector, I’ve supported mums through a range of issues, including anxiety, loss, and relationship and family concerns. This background helps me empathise with the challenges mums face at every stage of motherhood.

Together, we can work on understanding your needs and finding ways for you to feel more equipped to face the journey of motherhood.

How I Work

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the challenges of being a mum? It’s not uncommon to feel stressed, anxious or lonely, but you don’t have to go through it alone. I can help you to understand your feelings and regain control of your life, so you have the confidence to be the mum you want to be.

Do you feel anxious about having a baby or how your kids are doing at school? Are you feeling lonely and experiencing a sense of loss because your expectations of having a newborn are not matched by reality. This could be the loss of your sense of self or that bonding with your baby has been challenging. Or perhaps you’ve been experiencing problems with your relationships because loved ones can’t understand what you’re going through and you struggle to tell them how you’re feeling?

Counselling with me can:

• Enable you to feel less anxious about your children so you can be more emotionally connected to your family without worry.

• Help you to better understand your life with your newborn and who you are now so you can feel more confident in your role as a new mum.

• Help you to explore and understand the feelings you’re experiencing so you can explain to loved ones what you’re going through. They will then be in a better place to provide you with the support you need.

  • Anxiety (including postnatal)

  • Depression (including postnatal)
